REM Isotropic Superfinish Process

First Gear employs the proprietary REM superfinish process. The ISF process uses polishing technologies that are chemically accelerated to generate extremely low Ra (<4 μin or 0.1 μm) surfaces. Benefits of applying this process include reduced friction, increased efficiency, increased resistance to micropitting and scuffing, reduced vibration and noise as well as many others.
